The Global Operations and Logistics (GOaL) Sustainability team is responsible for bringing to life NIKE’s “Move to Zero” sustainability mission – our journey to a zero carbon, zero waste future – within the GOaL function. The scope of GOaL is focused on moving NIKE’s finished product from factory to consumer in a way that is convenient, cost effective, and sustainable for our consumers. The GOaL Sustainability team sets the strategy, cross-functionally partners both internally and externally to execute, developes and reports on metrics and targets, and ensuring GOaL supports NIKE’s sustainability commitments.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Business Operations Manager for the GOaL Sustainability team. This role is key as the team has bold targets across carbon and waste to support Nike’s overall Move to Zero sustainability strategy and 2025 sustainability targets. For the team to be successful in achieving our targets, sustainability information must be elevated, communicated in alignment with business actions, and integrated into decision making.

This role requires a balanced individual with the ability to drive discussions with various partners, identify business and/or system problems, and in turn develop solutions. It requires a system-level problem solver who can see how diverse parts can fit together to create consumer impact and deliver on our sustainability commitments. This individual will need to be confident presenting at the executive level, working through user experience, digging into technical reporting details, and being a champion for sustainability.

We are seeking an individual who is self-motivated, driven, and passionate about their work. This individual must be a flexible thinker and an outstanding communicator who is comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing different personalities and perspectives.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As the Business Operations Manager for the GOaL Sustainability team, your key responsibility will be to drive the integration of sustainability into Global Operations and Logistics through performance management, creating shared accountability, and developing effective communication. You will play a key role in reporting against targets, storytelling on root cause drivers of sustainability, driving enhancements in data foundation, and supporting continuous improvement of reporting capabilities. You will work as a conduit between sustainability subject matter specialists and extended partner community to support driving sustainability accountability.

A typical day or week would include partnering across stakeholder groups – extended cross-functional business partners and sustainability subject matter experts – to understand needs and requirements to drive action and decisions to support meeting our 2025 sustainability targets, our Move to Zero sustainability strategy, and continually evolving sustainability reporting standards and expectations.

  • You will manage the tool vendor to ensure performance and alignment to expectations.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and prioritize required enhancements to the tool, identifying and driving continuous improvement of sustainability source data foundation, and identifying solutions to make data outputs and connections more efficient.
  • Effectively communicate and document reporting requirements, methodology updates, and system changes.
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly performance management reporting process, coordinating across our Geography and Global partners, and developing executive outputs to drive actions to achieve sustainability commitments and targets.
  • Perform analysis to prove and/or challenge sustainability outcomes, as well as identify correcting measures. You will also identify and implement solutions for enhanced leadership and cross-functional sustainability ownership of commitments and targets, which will include integration of sustainability into decision making.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Key partners in this role will be other teams within Global Operations and Logistics, including Transportation, Marketplace Operations, Performance Management, etc. This role will also require cross-functional partnership of teams outside of GOaL who have an impact on the team's performance, including Demand Supply Management, Nike Direct, Product Creation, etc.

Other key partners in this role include our Global Sustainability Data & Analytics team, to ensure reporting is aligned with standards and assurance requirements. This role with also partner externally and manage the relationship reporting tool vendor.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience (3 years with master’s degree) in operations, logistics, planning, or performance management
  • Clear understanding of product flows in the supply chain
  • Proficiency in Tableau (or other data visualization and/or dashboard tools), PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with Alteryx or other automated data connection tools a plus
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in Sustainability
  • Analytically strong, detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Experience in translation of business goals into quantitative metrics and reporting
  • High tolerance for ambiguity
  • Ability to drive results and thrive in a highly matrixed, cross-functional, cross-cultural, and complex organization
  • Ability to collaborate with key partners to understand/identify requirements, drive knowledge into action, and support data driven decision making
  • Ability to explain complex topics in a visually engaging and compelling manner to a variety of audiences
  • Strong relationship-building, facilitation, and influencing skills; ability to create trust among those with diverse personal styles
  • Proven ability to think creatively, recognize new business opportunities, understand new technologies, and communicate ideas
