NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Will design footwear products that are created and sold to consumers, including presenting original concepts, selecting appropriate materials, and modifying products to ensure manufacturability in Beaverton, OR. Will bring to life the seasonal category creative direction through footwear design and innovations that are trend relevant to the category consumer. Will create original and innovative concepts and designs that reflect design philosophy and standards with direction from Design and Category management. Will advance design images, product performance, and inspire targeted consumers. Will contribute to the seasonal creative strategy for products and line segments. Will communicate changes to ensure the timely completion of projects. Will work with members in design, development, and product management to ensure feasibility of designs, that designs meet price points, and to determine merchandising needs and product creation timelines. Will communicate and present design concepts to various internal and external audiences, along with senior designers. Will provide design support for the design team. Will follow the execution of all product details, including construction details, color, form, style, detail, fit performance, graphic application, and trim. Will rely on knowledge in all phases of product execution and share knowledge and advancement with others. Will utilize performance insights to create and initiate research for product innovation. Will engage in 20 percent or less domestic and international travel.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, product design, accessory and footwear design, or textile design. Will also accept a Master’s degree in fashion design, product design, accessory and footwear design, or textile design. Experience: Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in footwear design. Will also accept a Master’s degree and one year of experience in footwear design. Skills/Requirements1 year of experience: (1) fashion design; (2) textile design; (3) flyknit design; (4) color design; (5) development of products, including coordinating with external factories to ensure the accuracy of produced designs; (6) schematics and sketches using Adobe programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; (7) building inspiration decks and mood boards for seasonal concepts and to build awareness of current trends; and (8) building 3D footwear or apparel prototypes and mockup samples by hand.
