Materials are the soul of Apparel Product. We are looking for a teammate that is relentlessly, curious and passionate about the creation and delivery of exceptional materials for our athletes*. You will hold a key leadership position on our Global Apparel Materials Team.Together our team will create and deliver world class sustainable materials that inspire every consumer in our product!

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

Our team is responsible for creating, developing and commercializing a material palette strategy that deliver on the highest level of athlete* experience, and key sustainability goals.

Key Accountabilities

  • Creation, development and management of seasonal and primary materials palettes
  • Partner with Sourcing on Mill Selection
  • Lead all aspects of materials and print technique development including initial cost, risk assessment, validation and execution
  • Pulse on industry benchmarks to inform a consumer orientated and product type specific materials direction
  • Drive key strategic functional goals and accountabilities; lead coach and develop our next generation of leaders

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

As the Materials Director, you will lead a dynamic and creative team of textile and print developers, supporting all key product types across Men’s Apparel. You will report to the Senior Director Materials. We work closely with Innovation, Design, Product Merchandising, Technical Development, and Sourcing and Manufacturing to connect and accelerate material palette strategies across the product line, and throughout the creation process.

Other Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Textile Science, Apparel Engineering, or Apparel Design or combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • 10+ years professional experience in materials development, product development or design with preference for material and trend experience
  • Exceptional understanding of textile and print development skills including high level concept development
  • Comprehensive understanding of garment construction and textile sciences
  • Exceptional communication and ability to partner across internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of industry benchmarks and manufacturing processes
  • Experience managing portfolio of projects with competing resources and deadlines
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to collaborate with various partners cross functionally
  • High level communication and presentation skills
