We are looking for a Director, Commerce Experience Research & Analytics. You’re an experienced senior leader with proven success catalyzing insights to action, particularly in driving the growth of digital products and working with integrated digital technology and design teams. You excel in multi-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced organization.

You’re a pro at a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods needed to develop a deep understanding of consumer needs and patterns of engagement. You are a world-class professional with experience in combining both quantitative and qualitative consumer insights to enable and prioritize feature creation, optimize digital experiences through driving experimentation, and identifying future growth opportunities. 

You will lead a team responsible for data science, analytics, experimentation and user research to drive the creation and optimization of commerce experiences that are distinctly Nike and serve the needs of the consumer. Your core partners are leaders from Nike digital product management, digital design, product and data engineering functions.

-  Manage, mentor, and inspire a technical team; managing performance, goals and development potential

-  Set team strategy to enable the design of scalable, end-to-end analytics and research solutions

-  Direct the exploration, validation, and implementation of contemporary data science, analytics, and research methods and tools to derive measurable insights for a wide variety of business goals.

-  Anticipate, identify and facilitate the solution to enterprise issues concerning critical business needs

-  Own relationships with key business partners to understand and anticipate current and future business needs

-  Effectively communicate with leadership across organizations both influencing the end-to-end solutions and protecting the interest of the department

-  Collaborate with leadership across teams of data scientists, business analysts, qualitative researchers, digital designers, engineers, and business partners to take an opportunity or pain point from concept to a new feature or digital product

-  Create and foster an environment that values and promotes autonomy, skill mastery, empowerment, visibility, innovation, and continuous learning

-  Evaluate potential new qualitative and quantitative research talent

-  Build trust and drive business adoption of your solutions with partners

-  Direct exploration of appropriate models to discover meaningful patterns and insights

-  Stay abreast of and apply industry and technology trends as well as emerging tools and techniques relevant to the team’s disciplines

-  Create a continuous learning environment through team trainings and sharing of knowledge

-  8+ years experience in e-commerce or similar digital experience at a digital agency, in-house at a brand, or in an academic setting

-  Bachelor’s in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field

-  Demonstrable ability to plan, lead, execute and deliver impactful qualitative and quantitative insight solutions

-  Expertise in synthesizing findings that translate into relevant insights

-  Has a strong problem solving and analytical approach

-  The ability to think creatively with data, formulate and get tractions around new ideas, and bring a new perspective to business and engineering partners

-  Able to influence and communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with team members, business partners and leadership

-  Able to influence critical business outcomes in a matrix based, global environment

-  Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve both people and process related issues

-  Experience resolving end-to-end issues with higher levels of management

-  Experience working with real-world, structured and unstructured data

-  Excellent communications skills, in particular, the ability to communicate technical content to general audience in presentation and meeting format

-  Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and to multi-task across different functions of the business, and switch workstreams and handle many different levels of requests.

-  Experience conducting research globally, including non-English marketplaces

-  Able to quickly pick up new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks

-  In-depth background in mathematics, statistics, or a related field

-  In-depth knowledge of applied data science

-  Ability to guide and give feedback in multiple data environments involving complex joins, data cleaning, and feature creation using SQL or SQL based languages (Hive) is preferred

-  Core mathematical ability to guide the application of statistical modeling in a programming language like R or Python to understand patterns and provide insights is preferred

-  Experience with Adobe Omniture Suite, Google Analytics, Tableau, or Optimizely is a plus

-  Data science or advanced analytics applications in businesses with a subscription-based model (e.g. content platforms, gaming, etc.) is a plus

-  Familiarity with digital optimization, A/B and multivariate test implementation, analysis and business reviews

-  Executive level presentation and communication experience

-  Consumer experience with Nike digital apps (NTC, NRC, SNKRS, Nike App)

-  Knowledge of Nike’s physical merchandise and company history
