Project Business Director

Supply Chain, Distribution & Logistics
00514110 Requisition #

As our Project/Business Director for an Omni-channel, multi-category facility located in Byhalia, Mississippi; you will contribute to Nike's growth by defining and driving the strategic agenda for continuous transformation of Nike's capabilities to better serve our athletes and consumers. In our rapidly changing world, you will help us raise the bar on Nike's end-to-end value chain expertise by working in close partnership with internal and external innovation leaders related to Designing, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Planning, Customer Service, Digital Operations and Logistics.

You will build compelling strategies using Supply Chain engineering analytics resulting in actionable execution plans, align leadership stakeholders around a common plan and roadmap and translate strategy through to measurable business outcomes through a data first approach. Your ability to factor in linear programming, simulations and network analysis will be key as the facility undergoes the second phase of build out.

You will bring performance management capability to the next level: drive a forward looking, actionable view of supply chain performance, drive through surface statistics to root cause and action, transform information reviews to decision venues, spur the organization to continuously meet and beat aggressive performance targets and deliver visibility to key accomplishments. Your ability to evaluate productivity through detailed time/fatigue studies will inform proper facility design considerations. You will play a critical role in the statement of work through implementation phases of our labor management system. While doing this work, you will influence the standardization of operator methods through detail outlines of operator methods and training.

Define and evolve various operating models to manage large scale initiatives related to continuous improvement and ensure direction of the program remains aligned with leadership expectations. The ability to foster collaboration, strategic alignment and integrated planning and execution across different functions in a matrix organization will be essential. You will work closely with the Nike Logistics System (NLS/Lean) to ensure flow, connectivity and activity of all work. In this work you will devise ways to eliminate waste while maximizing machines, materials, information and productivity. You will leverage flowcharting, value-stream mapping, cause and effect analysis and hypothesis testing to drive optimum results.

  • Portfolio coordination and rigor testing (milestones, timelines, resources) to include MHE (MHE high and low tolerance limits through strategic volume induction) and Operations (Performance of RF devices, Locus robotics and the introduction of an automated storage and retrieval system)
  • Ability to review analytical data and determine the best course of action for all areas within current scope. This would include, but not limited to, units per hour (UPH), cost per unit (CPU)
  • Experience with WMS, Labor Management (Manhattan), PowerPoint, Access, AutoCAD or simulation software and development with engineering labor standards experience is preferred
  • Arrange Request for Proposal (RFP) client base to introduce innovation and technology within the Digital First Supply Chain focus. You will research/monitor market conditions and trends of technologies that will support ASRS/Robotics/Industry cutting edge techniques as we continue to build out the facility.
  • Frequently align with internal stakeholders within operations and engineering to assess equipment needs and any WMS/WCS (Warehouse Management System/Warehouse Control System) adjustments. You will ensure that induction points and MHE infrastructure is producing aligned output through various cartons per minute (CPM) time studies. You will work closely to understand recirculation rates of cartons within the facility to ensure design aligns with output.
  • Work closely with vendors and the operation to diagnose any problems and provide recommendations for improvement with installed equipment. You will have quarterly meetings reviewing metrics of recirculation rates, downtime and uptime. You will then work to resolve those issues through a value-stream mapping process in partnership with operations and engineering.
  • Resolution or escalation of portfolio risks and issues. You will monitor timelines of key operational targets and advise/escalate when output isn’t achieved thus causing risk to the operation.
  • Prepare senior executive presentations and updates. You will create tables that will inform stakeholders of data targets versus actuals. You will highlight key wins and focus areas for opportunities through a solution-based style of communication.
  • Identifying data technology/capability gaps and opportunities within Nike’s Digital First Supply Chain strategy and influencing investment choices that will unlock long-term growth and innovation at Nike’s Consumer Data engineering group.
  • Guiding cross-functional teams of operations managers, engineers, analysts, architects and data scientists to deliver business insights and data solutions, while playing a key role in coordinating and communicating their efforts across the organization.
