We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our WHQ Capital Asset team.

As the Capital Assets Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting of significant capital investments focused on a wide variety of projects. You’ll actively collaborate with cross-functional business partners to drive process excellence and financial statement accuracy. You will execute SOX key controls and financial statement reporting requirements associated with construction projects and business units.


WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will be the point person for executing capital asset accounting processes and maintaining effective internal controls around the tracking and accounting for significant construction investments, including technical accounting considerations in accordance with US GAAP and NIKE Accounting Policy. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional business partners to drive process excellence and financial statement accuracy, fulfill reporting requirements, prepare accruals, and perform timely analysis. You will also engage key business leaders to obtain visibility and provide accounting guidance for new transactions, enabling forecast accuracy and informed business decisions.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Driving continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and financial reporting

- Participating in the review of monthly, quarterly, and annual operational results; continuously adding value and be seen as a credible and trusted business partner

- Embrace best practices and drive process excellence, including LEAN initiatives over existing processes.


WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be a member of the Controlling organization reporting to the WHQ Asset Accounting Manager. You will be working cross-functionally with business partners from Controlling, Procurement, Finance, and Construction.




- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, preferably with an emphasis in Finance, Economics, Business, Risk Management or equivalent

- A minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in accounting, finance, or closely related field.

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks with senior leadership

- Strong ability to handle and effectively prioritize numerous and competing priorities and requests

- Strong ability to seek information and problem solve issues

- Standout "can do" attitude and enthusiasm to drive and innovate the process

- Strong critical thinking skills in order to identify issues and accounting impacts outside of the standard process

- Proficiency with SAP ERP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint systems is strongly preferred

- Strong enthusiasm and passion for the Nike brand.
