Talking points:

As a Sr. Material Innovator within NXT Apparel Materials, you will generate data informed technical textile solutions for performance-based knit, woven and non-woven products being designed and developed as new opportunities for sport performance apparel.

You’ll develop ideas and create technical textile development and procurement strategies that are consistent with NXT’s product creation vision.

You will collaborate with NXT Apparel, NXT Digital, NXT Sustianbility, Global Apparel materials, Design, Product Development, and Advanced Manufacturing staff to research and develop new Textile technology solutions for a variety of materials and processes.

You will establish a process methodology for both creative and detailed evaluation of textile needs to include collaboration and planning strategy, product and technology briefs, research and development, yarn procurement, application trials, development trials, testing, data analysis and reporting, production integration, and manufacture and make.

As a Textile specialist you will work with external yarn suppliers, fabric mills, material manufacturers, textile technology providers, equipment suppliers, research institutes, and laboratories to create engineered textile innovation strategies and developmental solutions to insure that relevant structure applications/processes meet all required performance specifications. You'll also collaborate to establish test methods for material projects that fall outside the normal realm of industry standard procedures; using testing resources outside Nike lab when appropriate. You'll continually research and analyze new textile creation opportunities and machine technologies. You will provide on-line information and conduct presentations and educational seminars to fellow engineers, developers, designers, Global Materials, and other interested groups.

Emphasis is placed on being a creative innovator in the textile creation space! One who is able to think through technical attributes of fabric manufacturing and use. Then you will apply this knowledge and creativity to unique, performance materials/system solutions.
